Hello from Ellie!
I’m Ellie, some of you will already know me from Holy Trinity Weston as I’ve been working at the project’s faith groups. Recently, I have taken on a new role of Youth Development Worker, more about that later!
What can I say about me? I grew up in the Fareham and Gosport area which is near Portsmouth and currently live there with my parents, dog, cat, 2 turtles and 3 chickens. However next year when I marry my Fiancé Tim, I will be living nearby which is exciting in many ways!
I love animals if you haven’t guessed that already, in fact, I studied animal management at college which was an amazing experience working with all sorts of animals including meerkats and lemurs.
I also enjoy summers at the beach and board games all year round.
I’ve just finished a degree in Applied Theology and Youth Work, I actually decided to drop the youth work aspect at the end of my first year. But then went back home and spent some time volunteering with my home church youth group and realised that I actually love youth work so asked to be put back on youth work course. Thankfully they said yes otherwise I might not be here today.
At WCYP I will be bringing back the project’s youth mentoring scheme and taking on leading the young leaders programme, developing it further so that those participating get even more out of it. I will also continue to be a leader for Pulse, our midweek church group for 11–14-year-olds, leading the children’s work on Sundays for Holy Trinity Weston and being a leader at both Rock solid groups more often.
I’m really excited to get stuck in with my new role at Weston Church Youth Project and feel free to say hi if you see me around.
If you want to know more about me or the groups or programmes I’m involved with then feel free to email me at email@example.com
