Rachel's hello :)

I am Rachel, your new Project Manager here at WCYP. It has been a busy 2 months since starting at the beginning of August. I wanted to pop on here to give you a bit of background about me, and give you a long overdue update of what we have planned for the Project during this very confusing and difficult season of Covid-19!

Firstly then, as you now know, I am Rachel. I grew up in Christchurch, on the other side of the New Forest to Southampton. I live with my husband, nearly 3 year old daughter and mother-in-law.

I love being active and getting outdoors, especially going at the beach. I love working with people of all ages, and am excited to be working with the wonderful young people of Weston.
I am very creative, and studied Fine Art at University.  I love to make things out of recycled materials and I enjoy painting and photography.  I would love to have a go at pottery someday.
I enjoy watching movies usually Disney, Murder Mysteries, or Sci-fi.

But enough about me, onto the exciting bit…what are we doing at this time?!
Well, the team and I have been working hard to figure out how to use zoom and read through all the government guidelines about what we can do. Unfortunately, right now, it’s not a lot. Not what you guys are used to anyway. However, we have come up with some new digital activities for you to be apart of…

For the 7-11 year olds we are making up some great activity packs for you to pick up and use throughout the week, the pack will have a different theme each week. Join our closed Facebook group - Rock Solid (Primary age) to get information about how to get a pack and to share your adventures and crafty creations.

     

For 12 year olds and above, we are venturing into the world of TikTok! So be ready to follow our WCYP account and watch our videos and have a go at the challenges we set you on Friday each week.

We can meet in person in small bubbled groups and we are working towards making this a regular thing. So watch this space!
